Findings — figures and comparative map

This page embeds the pedagogical figures produced for the paper. They are original deterministic diagrams, not experimental data.

1. Acoustic horizon flow profile

Flow speed vs sound speed

Where the green flow-speed curve crosses the blue sound-speed line, phonons cannot escape upstream. That crossing is the acoustic event horizon of the dumb hole.

2. Sound-cone cascade

Sound cones

In the geometrical-acoustics limit, sound cones tip past vertical at the horizon — the same causal structure that light cones exhibit at a gravitational event horizon (cf. artistic impressions in Barceló–Liberati–Visser Living Review).
